Prior convictions can often times interfere with a citizen’s ability to acquire a job, receive financial aid for higher education and even expose them to harmful housing policies that discriminate against people with criminal records. The Tribe The Village Inc looks to assist community members with access to free legal services specific to their conviction record. We have worked closely with Essex Newark Legal Services for seminars as well as New Jersey Judges, prosecutors and public defenders to conduct expungement seminars and clinics servicing the community statewide.
